Assessment of open versus closed method of pneumoperitoneum creation in laparoscopic surgery

Background: The concept of open laparoscopy is to eliminate the risks associated with blind insertion Veress needle and trocar. present study was conducted assess versus closed method pneumoperitoneum creation in laparoscopic surgery.Materials & Methods: 74 patients who underwent operative procedure for laparoscopysurgery both genderswere divided into 2 groups based on used. Group I were (Hasson technique) group II (closed method). Per findings like its duration, multiple attempts, incision size, extraperitoneal insufflation, port site bleeding, gas leak, total used recorded. Results: out patients, males 46 females 28. In II, mean size (mm) 11.2 10.4, duration pneumoperitonium (Sec) 104.2 138.4, attempts seen 9 4, leak at 7and 3, bleeding 5 2, pre peritoneal insufflation 0 1 wound infection respectively. difference significant (P< 0.05).Conclusion: Both methods comparable interms time taken complete operation major minor complications. Thus, creating surgery are safe perform.
